Yaser AbuShaban, CFA, is a senior investment consultant and affiliate of ORC, where he provides strategic investment advisory services to Sovereign Wealth Funds, Central Banks, Custodians, General Partners, Pension Funds, and Family Offices. With over 25 years of investment experience spanning the United States and the Middle East, Yaser offers deep insight into due diligence, portfolio construction, manager selection, and governance structures that support institutional mandates across both liquid and illiquid asset classes.

Yaser is the Founder and CEO of Silver Peak Capital Advisors, an independent investment advisory firm. Most recently, he was a Principal and Project Lead in Mercer’s Investment Consulting business in Dubai, where he led high-level projects focused on investment strategy development, manager due diligence and selection, and institutional governance frameworks. His expertise spans public and private markets, with a track record of supporting complex investment implementations across diverse client profiles.

Throughout his career, Yaser has served as an investment practitioner and advisor, having conducted extensive manager research, led strategic asset allocation exercises, and designed investment policy frameworks. He has worked closely with GCC-based endowments, pension funds, sovereign entities, and family offices to develop, evaluate, and implement tailored investment strategies. His experience also includes oversight of balance sheet management, treasury, funding structures, asset/liability matching, and cost of capital frameworks, gained through senior banking roles.

Prior to joining Mercer, Yaser was Head of Asset Management at Emirates Investment Bank in Dubai, where he chaired the Investment Committee and managed both public and private market portfolios. He previously held the role of Head of Structured Investments at Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank, where he led the restructuring of the proprietary investment book and development of treasury and pricing policies. Earlier in his career, he served as a multi-asset class Fund Manager at Vantagepoint Funds in Washington, DC, overseeing more than USD 3 billion in client assets, and as a Senior Consultant at Arthur Andersen in the U.S.

Yaser currently serves on the Investment Committees of several regional institutions, as well as being a Board member of multiple investment firms.

Yaser has been a CFA® Charterholder since 2002. He holds a BA in Economics with Honors from Northwestern University, a Master of Science in Foreign Service from Georgetown University, and an MBA with High Honors from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
